Product Detail Page (PDP)
A product detail page (PDP) is the page where all the information and the buy action for a single product come together — the place where the purchase decision actually happens.
What drives conversion here?
After price and photography, the biggest factor is how many questions are left. If sizing, true color, or delivery timing isn't resolved on the page, the shopper goes back to search. That's why reviews and video pull their weight on a PDP.
What changes when you add video?
Information that text and stills handle badly gets resolved in seconds — how a garment moves, how a shade actually looks, how loud an appliance is. And because everyone on the page already came for that product, the same video sits much closer to a purchase than it would on the home page.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What's the difference between a PDP and a PLP?
A PLP lists many products so the shopper can choose; a PDP explains the one they chose. A PLP is optimized for the click, a PDP for the purchase.
Q. Is a longer PDP better?
Length isn't the measure. What matters is whether information appears in the order shoppers actually ask about it. If the answer they need is buried near the bottom, length works against you.
Q. What fills a new product's page when there are no reviews yet?
Rather than leaving the review slot empty, show the use itself: a scale-comparison photo, a short usage clip, and the questions support has already answered. Those carry the page until reviews accumulate.
