PDP Video
PDP video is short product video placed on the product detail page to clear up what photos and copy leave unanswered, right before the purchase.
What should it cover?
Not brand storytelling — the questions still standing at the moment of purchase. Scale against a familiar object, true color, how it fits, how loud it is, how it's cleaned. The list of repeat questions in your support inbox is the most accurate brief you'll get.
What do you check on install?
Load-time cost, autoplay and mute behavior, and product data binding. When an item sells out or the price changes, the information inside the video has to change with it. Subtitles matter too: most people watch with the sound off.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How long should it be?
Fifteen to sixty seconds answering one question is the safe shape. If you have several topics, split them into several short videos.
Q. Can we cut clips from a live broadcast?
That's the recommended path. Cutting the strongest moments into highlight clips and posting them on the PDP builds a video library at no production cost.
Q. Where on the page should the video sit?
Near price and option selection, within the first scroll. Placed at the bottom it only reaches people who already decided — which defeats the point of answering a question.
