Shoplive CEO Kiyoung Kim: From Google, Meta, and Naver to Building a Global Video Commerce SaaS Company
Launched in Singapore, Shoplive now operates entities in Korea, the U.S., and Canada as it sets its sights on becoming the world’s No. 1 video commerce SaaS platform.
Maeil Business Newspaper — Last September, women’s fashion brand SIE recorded KRW 1.6 billion in sales in just 30 minutes during a live commerce broadcast marking its launch on SSF Shop, the online mall operated by Samsung C&T’s Fashion Group. Between 7 p.m. and midnight, orders surpassed 14,000, with roughly one item sold every second.
The hidden force behind this success was Kiyoung Kim, CEO of Shoplive Korea, whose live commerce service Shoplive supported the broadcast from planning and streaming to seamless order processing.
Shoplive Korea is the Korean entity of Shoplive, founded by Kim in 2021. Today, Shoplive is used in more than 20 countries, including Korea, the United States, and Japan. Its client base includes more than 200 companies, such as IKEA, LG, Samsung, Bandai, the Japanese model and toy maker behind Gundam, and QVC Japan, the Japanese subsidiary of the global home shopping company. Around 40% of Shoplive’s revenue is generated overseas.
